Team Armadillo Launches BrianJHoltby.ca

Earlier in December, Team Armadillo was approached to develop a web site for potential _Progress Conservative Calgary-Currie Nominee_, Brian Holtby. His campaign team needed a quick and clean web site built within a short time for the beginning of the PC nomination season. Using some of the already existing branding, Team Armadillo was able to put together a couple of intense days of work to craft a “full-fledged web site for Brian and his campaign team.”:http://www.brianjholtby.ca

Armadillo Blacksout For SOPA & A Better Internet

Today, January 18th, Team Armadillo is joining hundreds of web sites across North America in “blacking out in support of the anti-SOPA and anti-PIPA”:http://sopastrike.com/ movement.

And while it’s great news that “SOPA (The Stop Online Privacy Act) has been shelved by Congress”:http://www.zeldman.com/2012/01/16/ding-dong-sopa-is-dead/ for the time being, it still doesn’t address some of the underlying threats towards the web industry in North America. It’s a step forward, but governments north and south of the 49th parallel must show a greater understanding of the importance of this emerging industry.

DCWEEK2011: Armadillo Invades Digital Capital Week

Team Armadillo Invades DCWEEK 2011

Members of Team Armadillo are once again excited to announce our participation in Washington DC’s “Digital Capital week”:http://www.digitalcapitalweek.org/. Running from the week of November 4th, the Digital Capital Week (“#DCWEEK”:http://ford.getgrandstand.com/) unites the ever growing DC, Virginia, and Maryland tech community in a barrage of conferences, talks, parties and local home grown events. Last year, we were lucky enough to attend a variety of “events through out the inaugural week”:http://blog.armadillostudios.ca/article/armadillo-invades-digital-capital-week, so we are more than excited for round 2.

To kick off our participation, members of Team Armadillo volunteered our time to help out local DC organization, “Bread For The City, with their DCWEEK Tech Day last saturday”:http://digitalcapitalweek.org/2011/11/dcweek-community-profile-greg-bloom/. For a first run and such a unique concept the event was a fantastic success. The entire day united a variety DC tech volunteers with the local clients of Bread For The City. There was a fantastic amount of sharing of knowledge and some great conversation between community members and tech innovators. It was a great event to be apart of and we were more than happy to lend a hand.

In addition, to checking out some of the other events throughout the week, Team Armadillo will be partaking in the all-day “Core Conference on Thursday November 10th”:http://dcweek2011.sched.org/overview/type/dcweek+conference and also two discussions on Friday November 11th – “Gamification Perspectives
Diverse approaches to engagement, design, problem solving, & avoiding the buzz”:http://dcweek2011.sched.org/event/d1e5e9cc0281f93178c16d46b17e68ce and also “Vote Tech”:http://dcweek2011.sched.org/event/1db45c0d149762d28562a77c57c79948.

It’s sure to be an exciting week and if you see memebers of Team Armadillo around, say hello and we’ll even share a couple of our beloved stickers with you.
